Showcasing German Infantry – 1914

In 2021, I had the privilege of painting this stunning set of early WWI German infantry for a client, using Great War Miniatures in 28mm scale. These figures capture the iconic look of the German army at the start of the Great War, complete with Pickelhaube helmets and detailed equipment.

The project involved careful attention to historical accuracy, with muted tones and realistic weathering to reflect the gritty reality of early trench warfare. Each figure is based on a minimal muddy battlefield, complete with scattered barbed wire, evoking the harsh conditions soldiers endured during the Great War.

This collection highlights the pride and discipline of the Kaiserreich's forces at the outset of the conflict. It's always a privilege to bring such an iconic historical period to life on the tabletop, and these miniatures are sure to make an impressive addition to any wargamer's collection.
